FCPCS Launches an Innovative Teacher / Principal Training Program
FLORIDA - June 2, 2015 - Today, the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS) launched the Florida Principal and Teacher Academy (FPTA). A one-of-a-kind virtual program developed exclusively for FCPCS member schools, FPTA offers 20 state-approved online professional development courses for teachers, principals, and non-instructional staff.
FCPCS is the only state charter school association in the country to offer this serve to its member schools.
“Teachers and principals can take courses from any computer at any time,” explains Robert Haag, President, FCPCS. “Upon completing a course, participants will earn in-service points towards recertification. They can also receive critical professional development instruction that targets deficiencies outlined in their evaluation. This is a win-win program.”
Approved by the Florida Department of Education, FPTA courses are aligned with the FCPCS Professional Development and Evaluation Systems and are offered through a special partnership with Educational Impact, a respected provider of online professional development.
