Broward Charter Schools May Be Eligible for Bond Funding
CHARTER SCHOOLS MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING FOR TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES UNDER BROWARD SCHOOL’S BOND INITIATIVE
The Broward County School Board will discuss a proposed General Obligation Bond funding on Monday, June 9, 2014. Charter schools may be eligible for funding for technology upgrades but it’s not guaranteed.
The Technology Upgrade Candidate section of the bond description mentions public charter schools: “In addition to schools listed below, funding for technology upgrades may also include Broward District Charter Schools at the discretion of the School Board to the extent legally permissible.”
Many charter school operators, administrators, teachers, and parents in Broward County are expected to attend the meeting to show their support of the inclusion of public charter schools -- and the students they serve -- in the bond project.
Regular School Board Meeting Monday, June 9, 2014 3:00 p.m. K.C. Wright Administration Center 600 SE 3 Avenue Board Room Fort Lauderdale, Florida
