Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS) Expresses Sympathy to All Groups and Individuals Impacted by Parkland School Shooting

FCPCS Backs Fundraising Efforts of Broward Education Foundation

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS) today expressed the heartfelt sympathy of everyone affiliated with its member charter schools toward all of those individuals touched by the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

FCPCS President Robert Haag said the organization is committed to helping in every way possible, and is encouraging support of the “Stoneman Douglas Victims’ Fund” GoFundMe fundraising site set up by the Broward Education Foundation, the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports Broward County Public Schools. "From our students, teachers, administrators, parents, vendors, friends and everyone connected with the FCPCS, we want to express our deepest sympathy," said FCPCSPresident Robert Haag. "We are all partners in Florida education, and we will do anything to support those affected by this horrific event."

He continued, "We urge all people who want to help to contribute to the Go Fund Me campaign established by the Broward Education Foundation, which has established the fund to support the victims and families.”

Broward Education Foundation has pledged that “100 percent of the funds collected after payment processing charges will go directly to the victims and their families involved in this horrific tragedy.” Contributors can also send checks directly to the Broward Education Foundation for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Fund.
