Florida TaxWatch Honors Two Charter School Principals

Florida TaxWatch held its third annual Principal Leadership Awards on September 24, celebrating six of Florida's top principals for their dedication to improving the lives and education opportunities for children in Florida's Title I public schools. Knowing that many of their students face significant educational obstacles, these principals have pushed themselves and their staffs to ensure that every one of their students are able to achieve their goals and potential.

The following principals were recognized for their efforts in tearing down the barriers facing their students and improving their student's lives:

- Chimene Johnson, Apalachicola Bay Charter School, Franklin County;

- Harriet Taylor, Springfield Elementary School, Bay County

- Jeffrey Raimann, Indiantown Middle School, Martin County

- Sandra Whidden, Sebring Middle School, Highlands County
