Mater Academy Charter High Students Earn Perfect AP College Board Exam Score


Miami-Dade County - February 4, 2015 - Mater Academy Charter High School students Maria Navarro and Barbara Torres were among just 285 students worldwide who earned every point possible on their College Board AP exam last spring.

“They answered every multiple-choice question correctly and earned full points on each of the essays,” explains their Principal, Judith Marty. “We couldn't be prouder of them and our Spanish language and culture teacher, Carmen Portela. All 100 Mater Academy students who took the Spanish AP exam passed with flying colors.

Mater Academy Charter Middle / High School is located at 7901 NW 103 Street in Hialeah Gardens, FL. Mater Academy is located in a commercial/industrial area in the city of Hialeah Gardens, FL, just outside the city limits of Miami, in what once was an abandoned big-box store. The energy that transformed a vacant store and garbage dump into a thriving, multi-building campus for a grades 6-12 school is apparent in every classroom. Students, parents, community members, and staff all speak of the "magic" that is Mater.
