Miami Charter School Ranked as One of Best Schools in the Country

MIAMI, FL - International Studies Charter Middle High School, a 6-12 dual language program in Miami, was just named one of the best schools in the country by US News & World Report. The magazine’s annual ranking of the top high schools in America releases this week ranks International Studies Charter High School (ISCHS) 2nd among all public high schools in Florida, and 15th among the 21,000 public high schools in the country.

Located at 807 SW 25 Avenue in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, ISCHS offers an accredited International Studies (IS) program in French, Spanish and Italian where students may earn an Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID). Spanish and French IS students may earn US Diploma and the national diploma – French “Baccalaureate” or Spanish “Selectividad.”

Other public charter schools ranked among the top in Florida include: Academy Of Arts & Minds (Coconut Grove) #18, Somerset High School (Homestead) #20, Mater Academy Charter High (Hialeah Gardens) #23, Mater Academy Lakes High School (Miami-Dade) #28, Doctors Charter (Miami Shores) #32, Doral Academy (Doral) #35, City of Pembroke Pines Charter (Pembroke Pines) #42, G-Star (West Palm Beach) #44, Mater Academy East (Miami) #47, and Somerset Arts Conservatory (Pembroke Pines) #62.

According to the US News & World Report website, more than 21,000 public high schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia were evaluated. Ranking is based on state proficiency standards and how well they prepare students for college.
